When we visited one supplier his bird actually bowed to him, how cool is that? This unforgettable opportunity lets you handle some magnificent birds of prey. You'll be given an overview of the disciplines and history of falconry by one of the country's best falconers,

followed by a brief introduction to the husbandry and welfare of birds and the equipment used in falconry. The course ends with the opportunity to fly a bird "to the fist" so you can experience the sensation of a magnificent bird of prey on your arm. Programmes vary depending on location.

When can you go?
Limited selected Monday to Sunday dates, generally all year.

How long does the activity last?
Your falconry encounter will last approximately 2 to 4 hours.

What you need to know
You must be at least 16 years old to do this activity and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. General fitness is required as there can be a lot of walking involved. No previous falconry experience is necessary.

You and how many others?
There'll be a maximum of 11 other people in your group.
