Experience the grace of sailing, combined with the thrill of motor racing, with this popular and highly entertaining sport. Imagine yourself sitting a few inches from the ground and racing across the sand at speeds of up to (and over) 40mph with no brakes!

After an initial briefing, you will experience your first sail at low speed, practising stopping at the same time. Then you progress to a figure of eight course learning safe, controlled turns. If you show good control at this level, you can go on to learn a more difficult manoeuvre called a gybe turn.

All About The Land Yachting Experience

Later in the session land yachts may be sailed on a larger circuit as you experience performance sailing and racing.

Locations: New Romney in Kent.
Availability: Available from February to November on selected weekends only.
Duration: Approximately 6 hours.
Minimum age: 16.
Restrictions: Maximum weight 102kg (16 stone). Reasonable agility is required to get into the craft. Sorry, you can't bring along family and friends to watch you do this activity.
