Are you missing the TV programme? Now you can try your hand at guiding sheep into a pen with a faithful sheepdog to help you. Ever wanted to try your hand at the traditional art of sheep dog herding because now is your chance. The days begins with a short talk on the dogs and instincts followed by an introduction to the dogs themselves. The morning comprises of learning the dogs' 'language' in a training ring and working 2 or 3 different dogs.

For lunch 'Shepherds' usually go to the local pub or you can bring a 'pack-up'. In the afternoon, you will be learning to work dogs loose in the field, finishing moving a small flock of sheep round the field and completing a small course. The sense of achievement you'll feel when you've finally got all the sheep in the pen is second to none.

How long does the activity last?
The total experience will last for approximately 4 to 5 hours.

What you need to know
You must be at least 16 years old to participate in this activity. There are no fitness requirements or previous experience needed but it isn’t suitable if allergic to dogs. You'll get the best out of this experience if you are a genuine country lover.

You and how many others?
There'll be a maximum of five others in your group.

Family and friends
You are welcome to bring along family and friends to watch you do this activity, however the centre will charge them a fee.

We cant control the weather
Do not worry, this activity isn’t dependent on weather conditions
