About Polarised 3D glasses technology: Cinemas generally use polarized technology, 2 separate projectors or lenses each projecting the same film, but in a different polarization. Imagine that one projector is showing the movie with vertical beams of information and the other with horizontal beams of information. The lenses in your glasses will only pick up one of these, e.g. the left lens will only let through the vertical beams and the right lens will only pick up the horizontal beams. This is what creates the 3D effect and means that colours are far more vibrant than the old fashioned red-blue lenses used for DVD's and images.
